Hodges R. Caldwell Jr. Is the founder and CEO of the 501c(3) nonprofit EBLifeStyle Inc. Their mission is to donate lightweight portable mobility aids to the EB community to help them regain their mobility & independence. Hodges lives with the Junctional subtype of EB and understands the struggle of mobility first hand. Hodges has been involved in numerous clinical trials and research programs since the age of 4. He was primarily raised at Rockefeller University Hospital in New York under Dr. Martin Carter where he successfully had one of the first skin graft procedures. He was also the 1st to participate in a clinical trial for pusedmonic acid also known as bactroban or the genetic version Mupirocin ointment. Hodges has also participated in clinical trials for Miami University and Stanford University under Dr. Jean Tang.

Katelyn Ward is a graduate of Mount St. Mary’s University where she completed a degree in Health Science of Nursing. She is also a passionate advocate for the EB community. Born with Dominant Dystrophic EB, Katelyn has faced immense challenges, including 28 doctors spanning across 4 states and 41 surgeries in the last 11 years, but she refuses to let the disease define her. Now working at WellSpan Health, Katelyn is actively pursuing her dreams of becoming a pediatric nurse. She also continues to give back to the EB community as EB Lifestyle’s Event Coordinator, helping to amplify the voices of everyone impacted by EB and filling critical gaps with mobility device donations.
Chris Sloey is a Senior Principal Scientist at Amgen, where he has worked for over 27 years. He has extensive experience in drug product technologies and is dedicated to advancing EB research. As part of this dedication, Chris also sits on EBRP’s Scientific Advisory Board where reviews upwards of 30 research applications a year to help guide funding decisions and accelerate the most promising science in the field of EB and rare disease at large.
Olivia Vedder is an artist and EBRP Ambassador. She recently founded the Yellow Wave Foundation which will aim to raise awareness, community and funding around endometriosis. She brings compassion and clarity to everything she does, using her voice to spotlight conditions too often overlooked. Raised in a family rooted in activism, Olivia blends music and advocacy to move young people to action. Whether she’s performing, encouraging her generation to vote, or championing EB research, she leads with empathy, urgency, and a belief in the power of community to drive change.
Michael Hund, MBA, is an award winning CEO with more than 20 years of experience in the innovative business models of venture philanthropy, impact investing and medtech entrepreneurship. His leadership has been highlighted by MIT, Yale, Harvard, Stanford, Cambridge, Forbes, and the Milken Institute. He is the CEO of EB Research Partnership, a game changing medical research organization dedicated to curing EB and scaling their model to rare disease. Under his leadership, EBRP has raised more than $70 million to transform the landscape from 2 to over 50 clinical trials and accelerated 3 FDA approved treatments. He is Executive Producer of the award-winning documentary Matter of Time and Executive Producer of Venture into Cures, combining stories of the patient and medical communities with musicians and actors to raise more than $12 million. Previously he served as the Director for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation and Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang, working on behalf of children battling life threatening illnesses.
